Becoming Cosmopolitan 2011
Women's event benefiting hungry in our community scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Harborside EVENT center
Attention ladies! Grab your little black dresses and best girlfriends for Community Cooperative Ministries Incorporated's (CCMI) fifth annual Becoming Cosmopolitan event to be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Harborside Event Center in Downtown Fort Myers River District.
Last year, over 250 women attended the event featuring glamorous shopping with local vendors, gourmet hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, sinfully delicious chocolate and desserts and a live and silent auction all in celebration of the cosmopolitan lifestyle in Southwest Florida. Last year's event raised over $55,000 for Community Cooperative Ministries Incorporated (CCMI).
"People who have never had to ask for help before including former business owners, schoolteachers, volunteers and former donors to our organization are now coming to us for help," said Sarah Owen, CEO of CCMI. "There is no doubt that these segments have grown needier with the current economic situation, so the monies raised will go a remarkably long way in helping us to assist those in desperate need of our help."
"Women of all ages will enjoy this social event of the season featuring delicious delicacies, tasty cocktails, fun giveaways, unique vendors, and an ultra chic live auction – all to benefit our local community," said Deanna Hansen, Chairwoman of the 5th Annual Becoming Cosmopolitan. "This is a great way to kick off the holidays and get in the spirit of giving by helping this valuable organization provide services to our local neighbors who need assistance feeding themselves and their families."
