Community Montessori School
- Looking for someone to read to individual children or small groups. This will be a time to add rich vocabulary to their life and give them attention. You may bring your favorite book(s) or we can provide a wide variety of books for you to choose from.
- Learning about plants and investigating the Earth is something most of our children would not experience if it wasn't for us. We have one 4x8 and one 6x12 garden and need assistance with helping the children plant and harvest their vegetables. Contact us if you are interested in participating with this project!
- Work one on one with students with letter sounds, math, zoology, botany, and other learning lessons during school time. Volunteers would provide valuable support for our students and receive a sense of accomplishment and some guaranteed entertainment in return.
- Meals on Wheels is always in need of volunteer drivers. We have 28 routes in Lee County. A route generally takes an hour and a half and a gallon of gas. Routes average around 15-17 stops. The average volunteer time is from 9-11 am weekdays. Days available are flexible! We would love to have you be part of our team.
- Meals on Wheels also needs cooler transportation. This job requires the volunteers to own a van or larger vehicle. The job consists of picking up the meal coolers with the food and transporting them to the Meals on Wheels pick up sites. This takes around 1 1/2 hours- 2 hours weekdays between the hours of 8:30-10:30. Call us to learn more detail!
- Volunteers are needed as cafe greeters for our customers visiting the cafe for a meal. This opportunity is available at both the Fort Myers and Cape Coral locations.
- Food preparation for the cafe meals is needed. We ask volunteers to work one of three shifts available from 6:30 am - 1:00 pm. Come check out our volunteers in action to see if this is the opportunity that fits your needs.
Everyday Market (Formerly the Food Pantry)
- The market needs help with stocking shelves and taking inventory. This opportunity is available at both the Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and North For Myers locations.
- Food Drives are a great way to make a huge impact on the lives of hungry families! We are approaching the busiest time of the year for providing people with emergency food and volunteers organizing food drives are vital to keeping our market shelves fully stocked. Call us about setting up a food drive with your organization today!
- Volunteers help homeless and at-risk of becoming homeless customers at our Everyday Cafe or United Way Resource Houses connect with services, complete Medicaid and Food Stamp applications, and other assistance as needed.
- Qualified volunteers may also contribute time by helping the Home Assessment Teams visit and assess the needs of homebound residents needing assistance.
- Assistance with assembling hygiene kits, sorting and folding donated clothing for distribution, and distributing basic needs items to homeless individuals.
