Community Montessori Preschool

Posted in: Programs

The Community Montessori School provides quality early childhood education preparing our children for elementary school by focusing on the development of the whole child-physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Our graduates now enter Kindergarten at an accelerated level preparing them for future academic success. Our fully licensed facility is open to the community and offers a premier, affordable pre-school education in a safe environment to families who are committed to their children's learning. Tuition rates are based on the family income.

Our school provides a comprehensive education and is proud to foster the arts as part of that experience. Instruction is provided to students in the visual arts and music. Students also learn about nutrition and plant and harvest their own urban peace garden located in the play area of the school. This project was completed with the help of a grant from ECHO and the Muhammad Ali Peace Center/Yum! Foundation. Vegetables harvested from the garden are used to create healthy snacks as well as donated to CCMI's Everyday Market.

Another recent accomplishment by our students includes the creation of a fictitious company, Beelicious Foods, thanks to a grant from the Junior League of Fort Myers Inc. The students' company prepares healthy snacks and creates craft projects. The proceeds from sales of these items are donated each year to a local United Way partner. The children chose to donate this year's proceeds to ACT, a private, not-for-profit agency committed to serving victims of domestic violence and their children, and survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. Projects like Beelicious Foods provide an opportunity for students to learn that working hard results in success and that giving back to their community as a result of their hard work and generosity makes a positive impact on others. At the CCMI Community Montessori School, through physical, social, creative and cognitive activities, each child is given the opportunity to thrive.
