United Way Resource Houses
CCMI is the lead agency for the United Way Resource Houses located at two locations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. The Fort Myers house is located in the Dunbar neighborhood just one block from CCMI headquarters and our Fort Myers Everyday Café & Market on 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The Cape Coral house is located at 1105 Cultural Park Blvd and shares space with the Cape Coral Everyday Cafe & Market.
The Resource Houses provide comprehensive case management to community members in need. This program is a collaborative partnership with a variety of United Way Agencies tasked with assisting individuals with positive, sustainable change through direct services, case management, referral, and follow-up. Customers are referred from the Everyday Café & Markets, other support agencies, and by word of mouth. Our program then provides the resources and referrals for job training, housing, mental health, substance abuse, child care, education and life coaching. The locations provide on-site kiosks for Medicaid and Food Stamp Applications, serve as a general mail delivery site for homeless individuals and replace picture identification. In addition, Case Coaches work closely with our School Backpack Program, Meals on Wheels Program and with families enrolled in our Montessori Program, providing parent training, home visits, and additional social services when appropriate.
We work together with community partners to offer comprehensive services without duplication of efforts to make the best use of our resources. Lee Memorial Hospital, Department of Children and Families, Lee County Human Services, Lee County Mental Health, AARP Senior Employment, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Family Health Centers, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Consumer Credit Counseling and Southwest Florida Addiction Services are just a few of our partners collaborating with us to provide outreach services and long term solutions to the Fort Myers and Cape Coral Communities.
